Thompson Funeral Homes & Cremation Care has served Hillsboro and Highland County since 1959, when Hope Miller opened the business at its current location after returning from service in WWII. Steven W. Thompson joined in 1981 and continues to operate the funeral home today. The business includes the Wylie-Thompson location in Sinking Spring, which occupies a historic property at 126 South Main Street built by Charles Willing Byrd in 1822 at the site of the original Sinking Spring.
The staff includes Funeral Director and Embalmer Meghan Wagoner, along with Funeral Assistants Richard Vanzant and Pat Michael. Both funeral home locations offer gathering spaces for visitations and memorial services, with traditional burial and cremation services available.
