Remembering Willie

A celebration of life services for Mr. Willies James Horne, Jr. will be held Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 1:00 P. M. in the chapel of Wyche’s Funeral Home, 306 East Moore Street. Bro. Earnest Simmons will officiate and the interment will follow in the Church of Christ Cemetery, 433 Hill Bridge Road, Dublin, Ga. Willie James Horne, Jr. was born on September 17, 1947 in Laurens County to the late Willie James Horne, Sr., and Gussie Lee Horne. On Thursday, November 12, 2022 Willie receive his heavenly wings. Willie received his education in the Dublin City School System, and went on to maintain employment in Laurens County. After working for more 30 years at Brown Furniture Store, Willie, being an entrepreneur, opened two businesses in downtown Dublin, namely, Farther and Sons Antiques, and Grandma’s Kitchen. In 1947, Willie Horne, Jr. and Ernestine Blash were joined in Holy matrimony. Mr. Horne was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Turner, three sisters, Bessie Lee Horne, Georgia Mae Horne, and Sandra Horne, and also a brother, Willie Joe Horne. Willie was a great father to three surviving children, La Gina (Ernest) Henderson, Willie J. Horne III (Carolyn) and Jamie Jerome Horne. Mr. Horne also leaves to mourn his passing four brothers, Frank Horne, John Horne (Mary), Frederick Horne (Sandra), and Larry Horne (Darlene). Out of the four children, Willie also leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, Devoted friends, Alfred Flanders and Melvin (Duke) Bell, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends . Friends are being received at the home of his brother and sister-in-law Frederick and Sandra Horne, 837 North Washington Street, Dublin, Ga. Arrangements entrusted to Wyche’s Funeral Home.
