Stellato Funeral Homes traces its roots to 1950 when it was established as the Waldo J. Ippolito Funeral Home after Mr. Ippolito purchased and converted an old sheet metal factory in Lyndhurst. Current owner Louis J. Stellato Jr. began working at the funeral home while still in high school, served his apprenticeship there after returning from the University of Minnesota and the United States Air Force in 1971, and purchased the business in 1974 following Mr. Ippolito's death. Louis and his wife Linda renamed it Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home and have expanded and renovated the facility multiple times, including major renovations in 1979 and 1991.

The Lyndhurst facility is fully handicap accessible and has been designed to provide a calming environment for families. The funeral home offers both traditional burial and cremation services, with options ranging from full funeral services to private memorial gatherings. Services include tribute videos, keepsakes, and live streaming for family and friends who cannot attend in person, as well as veterans honors.
