Stellato Funeral Homes has served the Lyndhurst area since 1950, originally established as the Waldo J. Ippolito Funeral Home when founder Waldo J. Ippolito converted a former sheet metal factory into a funeral facility. Current owner Louis J. Stellato, Jr. began working at the funeral home while in high school and purchased it in 1974 after returning from the University of Minnesota and service in the United States Air Force. He completed his funeral director apprenticeship on-site and renamed it Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home with his wife Linda.

The Lyndhurst facility has undergone major expansions and renovations in 1979 and 1991, and features full wheelchair accessibility throughout. The funeral home offers tribute videos, memorial keepsakes, and live-streaming services for families with members unable to attend in person. Veterans services are available to honor military families.

The Stellato family also operates a second location in Fairfield at a site that was originally a large colonial home with two barns, a greenhouse, and a garage dating back over a century.
