Seitz Funeral Homes has been family-owned and operated since 1979, when Dallas and Nancy Seitz purchased the Assumption and Moweaqua locations. Dallas Seitz began his funeral service career in 1956 and graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 1961, earning recognition from the Illinois Funeral Directors Association for 50 years of licensure in Illinois.
Michael Seitz joined the family business in 1989 after earning a B.S. in Business Administration from Illinois Wesleyan University and a degree in Mortuary Science from Southern Illinois University. Licensed funeral director Craig Collins joined the firm in 1990 following his graduation from SIU with a degree in Mortuary Science. Laurie Coffman serves as Business Manager.
The funeral home serves families throughout Christian County and the surrounding Central Illinois communities including Moweaqua, Bethany, Shelbyville, and Cowden. Services include traditional funerals, cremation, visitations, funeral processions to graveside services, and assistance with out-of-town arrangements.
