About Seitz Funeral Home
Dallas Seitz and his wife Nancy purchased the Moweaqua and Assumption funeral homes in 1979 after Dallas had worked in the funeral profession since 1956 and graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 1961. Nancy served as office manager while Dallas earned recognition from the Illinois Funeral Directors Association for 50 years of licensure in Illinois.
Their son Michael Seitz joined the business in 1989 after earning a B.S. in Business Administration from Illinois Wesleyan University and a degree in Mortuary Science from Southern Illinois University. Licensed funeral director Craig Collins came aboard in 1990 as a graduate of SIU's mortuary science program. Laurie Coffman joined as Business Manager in 2012, and Paige Seitz, Michael's daughter, is also part of the staff.
The funeral home serves families in Moweaqua, Assumption, and surrounding Christian County communities. Services include traditional funerals, cremation, visitations, and coordination of out-of-town arrangements.
