About Gilligan Funeral Home-Price Hill
Gilligan Funeral Homes traces its roots to 1877, when Patrick Gilligan, an Irish immigrant who settled in Cincinnati in 1857, founded the business with his sons as P. Gilligan and Sons Undertakers and Embalmers. The firm was among the first in the area to offer embalming and later introduced the city's first motorized funeral coach under John J. Gilligan.
Six generations of the Gilligan family have operated the business since, with Peter J. Gilligan, Sr. now serving as a fifth-generation funeral director alongside his son, Peter J. Gilligan, Jr. One family member, John "Jack" Gilligan, went on to serve as Governor of Ohio after years in the family funeral business.
The Price Hill location serves families throughout Cincinnati and Hamilton County, including Deer Park, Forest Park, and Blue Ash, with funeral and cremation services backed by nearly a century and a half of local operation.
