Founder Andrew Compagnola Jr. became licensed to practice funeral service in New York and New Jersey in June 1971 after completing his studies at the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Science in New York City. His interest in funeral service began at age 10 following his grandmother Pearl Compagnola Marra's death, when he questioned the funeral director about embalming and presentation.
