About Claybar Funeral Home Orange Homes

Claybar Funeral Home was founded in 1946 when Ambrose Claybar converted a residence in Orange into a funeral home. After World War II, his brother Lannie Claybar returned from military service to join the business, building it into a leading provider alongside his wife Marjorie Brown. Lannie, an accomplished pianist, served families until his death in 1969.

The second generation began with David and Brown Claybar, who constructed a new facility at 504 5th Street in Orange adjacent to the original site. Brown Claybar assumed leadership in 1980 and expanded the business throughout Southeast Texas, acquiring Clayton-Thompson Bridge City Funeral Home and Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange. The company has now served the region for over 80 years across three generations of family ownership.

The funeral home provides both burial and cremation services with options ranging from full funeral services to private ceremonies, along with pre-planning programs for families in Bridge City and surrounding Orange County communities.
