About Claybar Funeral Home

Claybar Funeral Home was founded in 1946 when Ambrose Claybar converted a residence in Orange into a funeral home. After World War II, his brother Lannie Claybar joined the business and built it into the area's leading funeral service provider. Lannie, an accomplished pianist, passed away in 1969, and leadership transferred to Marjorie and David Claybar, with Brown Claybar joining in 1973.

A new facility was constructed in Orange at 504 5th Street adjacent to the original building. In 1980, Brown Claybar assumed leadership and began a period of regional expansion, acquiring Clayton-Thompson Bridge City Funeral Home, Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange, and Orange Forest Lawn in West Orange. The funeral home operates a state-of-the-art on-site crematory with a family gathering room and enhanced security features.

The funeral home serves families throughout Orange County including Bridge City, Orange, Beaumont, Vidor, and surrounding communities. The business offers both pre-planning services and immediate need arrangements with 24-hour availability.
