Bowerman Funeral Home — Funeral Home in Eau Claire, WI

Bowerman Funeral Home was originally established in the 1880s in conjunction with a furniture store under a different name. Francis A. and Leona Bowerman purchased the business in 1923 and opened the town's first funeral chapel about a year later. In 1930, the funeral home moved to its current Main Street location in Eau Claire, occupying a building that had served as the home and office of Dr. J. H. Herring for over 30 years.

The Bowermans transferred the business to their son Richard and his wife Wanda in 1961. James and Karen Allred purchased Bowerman Funeral Home on January 1, 1987, operating it as a companion business to Allred Funeral Home in Berrien Springs, Michigan. In 2023, Tim Brown acquired the funeral home, continuing operations under Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

The funeral home provides Military Funeral Honors ceremonies for veterans, including assistance with benefit forms and qualification determinations. The basic honors ceremony includes flag folding and presentation to the family and the playing of Taps, performed by a detail of at least two Armed Forces members. The funeral home also helps families obtain veterans headstones through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
