Zofia Podgurski

Zofia Sosulski Podgurski, 94, Formerly of Hicksville, NY,passed away on Saturday, May 6,2017 at her daughter’s home in York, SC.
Born on January 4, 1923, in Jersey City, NewJersey, Sofia was the daughter of the late Frank Sosulski
and Mary Gerzak Sosulski. Zofia was the widow of Joseph Podgurski.
Zofia had a long work history with the following organizationsthroughout her lifetime: Franklin National Bank, Grumman’swhere she received a “Rosie the Riveter” award, OE McIntyre,Sylvania and Fortunoff’s.
Her favorite pass time was going to her Senior Citizen meetings and going to tag sales, as she was an avid collector of everything and anything!
Zofia is survived by her children, Margaret Ann Mermod of York, SC and Robert Podgurski of Essex, MA, her sister Micheline Salamack of Woodbury, NY and many loving nieces and nephews.
The burial service will be held at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, NY at a later date.
A Celebration of Life gathering will follow.
