William Connolly

William Roddey Connolly, 78, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be held at 2 PM on Monday, August 14, 2017 at York A.R.P. Church. The burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 4 – 6 PM at Bratton Funeral Home in York, and other times at the home, 210 Moss Street, York.
Roddey was a son of the late Joseph Connolly and Mattie Lesslie Connolly. He was an Elder at York A.R.P. Church. He was retired from the United States Postal Service and was a former City of York Mayor. Roddey enjoyed his part time work also for York Tech and Allied Barton, and his over 30 years of work as a high school and youth league football referee. Roddey was also a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Ann Newton Connolly, daughters, Leslie Connolly Brady of York, Lisa Ann Strickland Gardner of McBee, SC, brother Bob Connolly of York, SC, 4 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
