Travis Hager
Travis Lynn Hager died Jan. 2, 2019. He was born March 27, 1978 on a military base in
Heidelberg, Germany. He moved to the United States at the age of two and grew up in Claiborne
County, Tenn. before moving to Chattanooga, Tenn. He graduated from Claiborne County High School.
He worked as an Operations Supervisor at Republic Services. Previously, he was employed by
Budweiser of Chattanooga and Tower Services, Inc. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers,
Leonard Brooks and John Mewhinney.
He is survived by his wife, Brianne Hartley Hager and son Bryson Alexander Hager of
Chattanooga. Survivors in Tazewell, Tenn. include son, Ryley Nathaniel Hager; parents, Wayne and Kathy
Mewhinney; grandmothers, Gwen Brooks and Ellen Mewhinney; sister, Shoshanna (Bill) Evans; and
niece Brooklyn Evans.
Travis was so generous to all, whether old friend or new acquaintance. He was a hard worker
and would do anything asked of him. If he didn’t know how, he’d either figure it out or fake it until it
was done. Through organ donation, he was as generous in death as he was in life. Several people have a
new chance at life because of his gifts.
Memorial services in Chattanooga will be announced at a later date. There will be a memorial
service in Tazewell, Tenn. in February.
