York – Thomas “Tommy” Edmund Smoak, Jr., 74, of 657 S. Beersheba Road, passed away on Monday July 10, 2017 at his home.
The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Filbert Presbyterian Church with Rev. Wallace Tinsley and Rev. Richard Mullinax officiating. The burial will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 6 – 8 PM at Filbert Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
Tommy was a son of the late Thomas E. Smoak, Sr. and Elizabeth Brown Smoak. He was a Godly servant of Baptist faith who was very faithful and loved his God, family and friends. Tommy was a retired supervisor at Huntley Textile Mill and Sullivan Carson in York. He loved gardening, collecting and restoring David Bradley tractors, music and dancing, and his 58 Eldorado Cadillac.
He is survived by his wife Judy Compton Smoak, daughters, Shari Propst (Jamie), Leslie Templeton (John), Tanya Gilfillan (Matt), grandchildren, Jamie Propst, Jr., Chris Propst (Kirbie), Claire Templeton, Kate Templeton, great grandchildren, Conner Propst, Payton Propst, sisters, Margaret Ramsey (Frank), Phyllis Stanton (Steve), Linda Wray (Leroy), brother Charles Smoak (Ann) and many nieces and nephews.
