YORK -- Thomas Lester Simms Sr., 77, of York passed away Wednesday, April 09, 2014, at Gaston Memorial Hospital in Gastonia.
The funeral will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Bratton Funeral Home in York with Rev. Don Capell officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1-2 P.M. Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Bratton Funeral Home.
Thomas was a son of the late William Simms and Heppie Mathis Simms. He was retired from City of Gastonia in Waste Management Department. He was owner of Allstate Septic Tank Service and he served in the U.S. Air Force
He is survived by his wife Lillian Epps Simms, 2 sons Thomas L. Simms Jr., Billy Simms, 3 grandchildren Courtney Rumsey, Heather Piper, Thomas Brandon Simms and 6 great grandchildren Tyler Walker, Thomas Neal Simms, Carly Rumsey, Caleb Piper, Ethan Piper, and Claire Rumsey.
