Thomas Howe, Sr.

Thomas Russell Howe, Sr. 89, of Hickory Grove, SC passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 at his home.
A funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church in Hickory Grove at 2PM with Reverend Ed Reynolds and Reverend Mike Goodwin officiating. The burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Mount Vernon on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 6-8pm in the Fellowship Hall.
Born in Hickory Grove, Thomas was the son of the late Ernest William Howe and Eula Wilkerson Howe. He was a lifelong member of Mount Vernon UMC. Thomas was a Mason of the Sharon Lodge #289 for 60+ years where he served as the secretary for 22 of those years.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Clinton Howe, son, Thomas “Tommy” Howe, Jr. (Barbara), seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Howe Smarr, brother, David W. Howe and grandson, Michael Smarr.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon’s Building/Improvement Fund at 2160 Smithford Rd. Hickory Grove, SC 29717 or to a charity of one’s choice.
