Rock Hill– Theron Dixon Houser , 96, of Rock Hill, SC passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Piedmont Medical Center.
Theron was born on August 4, 1924 in Gastonia, NC. He was the son of the late Jesse Dixon Houser and Sarah Bradley Houser. He was the widower of Margaret Redmond Houser.
He is survived by his daughter Theresa Houser Jenkins (Ric), of Rock Hill, SC. Grandchildren Clay Jenkins (Karen) of Pataskala, Oh., Tracy Smith (Zack), of Clover, SC. Great-Grandchildren, Matthew Jenkins, Micah Jenkins, Avery Smith, and his special nephew Reg Thomas (Denise) of Belmont, NC. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Houser Hoyle, and Great Grandson Tyler Bradley Smith.
Theron was retired from WBTV where he worked on Spencer Mountain in Ranlo, NC for 30 years and was a WWII Veteran of the Army Air Corp serving in Europe with the 33rd Photo Reconnaissance Squadron as a mechanic on the planes.
He was a member of Pisgah ARP Church in Gastonia, NC, and was a member of West Avenue Presbyterian Church, Gastonia, NC until it closed in 2018; elder, Sunday School teacher.
