Thelma Greene ROCK HILL -Mrs. Thelma Satterfield Greene, 76, of 2087 Gregg Road died Monday, January 23, 2012, at Piedmont Medical Center. Mrs. Greene was born in Rock Hill on February 2nd, 1935 to the late Henry Sloan and Jeanette Clinton Satterfield. She retired after 32 years of service from Hoechst-Celanese Corporation. Following retirement Thelma enjoyed baking, sewing, working in her yard, spending time with her family, along with the several times a year travels with her beloved “Golden Girls” Glenda Bankhead, Wanda Davis, and Joyce Hayes. Mrs. Greene was a long-time member of First Church of the Nazarene for 41 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William M. Greene, brother Henry Satterfield and sisters Dot Poole and Evelyn Ackerman. Mrs. Greene is survived by daughters Denice Johnson (Donnie) of York, Lory Rice (Terry Nugent) of North Myrtle Beach step-sons Mike Greene (Jane) and Chris Greene (Rachel) of Rock Hill step-daughters Marcia Schultz (Jimmy) of Rock Hill and Connie Greene of Houston her brothers Sonny Satterfield (Naomi) and Tommy Satterfield of York, Bobby Satterfield of Columbia her sisters Ann Muckenfuss of Rock Hill, Jean Muckenfuss and Lucille Mallard of Arizona 14 grandchildren 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00-7:30 on Wednesday, January 25 at Bratton Funeral Home 1455 Highway 321 North, York SC, 29745, and other times at the home of her daughter Denice Johnson. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 26 at Grandview Memorial Gardens on Hollis Lakes Road with the Reverend Ron Fite officiating.
