Emuel Mason “Sonny” Pursley, 85, of Hickory Grove passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018 at his home.
The funeral will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Hickory Grove Church of God with Rev. Mike Goodwin officiating. The burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 PM on Sunday at Hickory Grove Church of God.
Born May 17, 1932, Sonny was a son of the late Milton “M.M.” Pursley and Effie Bolin Pursley. He was a retired mechanic with Ford, having worked for Dickerson Ford in York and Rick Ford in Clover. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Korean War, and was a member of Hickory Grove Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Bell Pursley, son, Kelly Pursley (Sandy) of York, sister, Margaret Childers of Hickory Grove, 2 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
