YORK -- Sarah Belle Lanier McDowell, 82, of 5 Cartwright Street passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville.
The funeral will be at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at First Baptist Church York with Rev. Trey Doyle officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Bratton Funeral Home
Sarah was a daughter of the late Mose Lanier and Mattie McDaniel Lanier. She was a member of First Baptist Church in York. She worked at Cannon Mills for 28 years and Wal-Mart for 25 years.
She is survived by husband Robert A. McDowell of York, SC, son Steve McDowell (Rose) of York, daughter Cynthia McCarley (John) of Fort Mill, SC, two sisters, Betty Adams of York, Pauline Adkins of Rock Hill, 5 grandchildren, Monica Morrison (Dwayne), Nikki Page (Tyler), Nona Lane (Wes), Steven McDowell II, John McCarley II and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Bobby McDowell.
