Sara Robinson Brown, 90, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at York A.R.P. Church with Rev. Jordan Bernard and Dr. Barry Eller officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1:30 PM at York A.R.P. and other times at the home, 3 Bratton Ave. York, SC 29745.
Born in Clover, SC on September 7, 1927, Sara was a daughter of the late James Allen Robinson and Iva Neeley Robinson. She was a graduate of Clover High School and Evans Business School. Sara taught Kindergarten at First Presbyterian Church for 11 years, and retired as a clerk at the York County Probate Judge’s Office after 24 years of service. Sara also volunteered for 10 years at the Hospice Retail Store, was an avid sports fan, and loved to read. She was an active member of York Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church since 1960, and had past memberships in the Rosa Alba Garden Club, Tuesday Afternoon Bridge Club, and the Thursday Afternoon Book Club.
Sara is survived by her children, Robbie Miller (Bill), Matt Brown (Kathy), Liz Brown, grandchildren, Blake Miller (Jaime), Spencer Miller (Skylar), Megan Hoyt (Mickael), Crystal Swanger (Chris), Lauren Adams (Nick), and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by her sisters, Dot Robinson, Mary Fisher, and brother Rev. Bob Robinson.
