Ronald “Ronnie” Eugene Ruth, 80, of York passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 peacefully at his home.
The funeral service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at York ARP church with the Reverend Jordan Bernard officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall from 2-3pm Saturday.
Ronnie was the son of the late Floyd Andrew Ruth, Sr. and Flora Funderburk Ruth. He attended Clemson University before enlisting in the US Army. He retired from Bowater after working for forty years. He was a faithful member at York A.R.P. Church where he served as Deacon and Elder of the church.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Norris Ruth, daughter, Rhonda Burns (Gregg), son, Eric Ruth (Shelly), step-son, Will Gillian, grandchildren; Morgan Burns, Hunter Burns, Taylor Peppers, Parker Ruth, Savannah Ruth, and Hall Crocker, great granddaughters, Braylee and Carlee Peppers, and half-brother, Floyd A Ruth, Jr.
In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Lillian Haun Ruth, half-brothers, Johnny Ruth, and JW Ruth, and half-sisters; Mildred Byers, Elizabeth Lucas, Evelyn Balcum and Doris West.
