Robert Wright, Jr.
A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Robert D. Wright, Jr. will be held Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 2:00 O’clock
P. M. in the Buckeye Baptist Church, 2176 New Buckeye Road, East Dublin, Georgia. The Rev. David G. Flowers
will officiate and the Rev. Jerry Walden will preside. Interment will follow in the Buckeye Baptist Church
Cemetery.
Mr. Wright was born on November 21, 1948 in Laurens County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Robert Dell
and Gladys Nesbitt Wright. He grew in the Buckeye Community and developed a passion for family, farming,
friends and good food. His education was highlighted as a member of the B. D. Perry High School Class of 1968.
Because of the love of God instilled in him by his parents, Robert became a member of the Buckeye Baptist Church
at an early age, he remain there faithfully until his transition to God’s house. He was affectionately known as
“June”, “Huck” and in later years, “Uncle Duke”, if you ask him, he would tell you, I like to be call “Mr. Wright.”
In April of 1971, Robert was united in holy matrimony to the late JoAnn D. Wright. To this union a daughter,
Rhonda, was born to make the family complete.
Robert was dedicated employee of Englehard/BASF until his retirement after 35 years of service.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Wright, two brothers, Joseph Nesbitt, and Kelvin Wright,
a sister-in-law, Oretta Denson and brother-in-law Willie Denson.
Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memory a loving and devoted family, his daughter, Rhonda Wright,
Brothers, James L.(Lillian) Wright, Melvin (Betty) Wright, Jimmy L. Wright, Phillip (Sandra) Duty, Gary (Lareta) Duty
Sisters, Janice (Johnnie) Anderson, Doretha Wright, Veatrice (Eddie) Rozier and Sheila Wright,
Sister and brother-in-laws, Alice Nesbitt, Shirley Wright, Leara Denson, Rosa L. Hardy, Dorothy (Lonnie)
English, Lucille Denson, Christine Denson, Louise Denson, Aunts and uncles, Ines (Kenneth) Sheppard, Mary (Nathan)
Carter, Bertha O’Neal and Felton Coley. His godchildren, Melinda Battle, Jamelia Anderson, Creshuna Darrisaw,
Nathan (Monique) and Monica Godfrey each held a special place in his heart. Nieces, nephews, extended family
and friends will never forget his smile.
Mr. Wright will be placed in the church one hour prior to the services.
Friends are being received at the family residence, 1769 New Buckeye Road, East Dublin, Ga.
