"Happy" Brown
YORK - "Happy" Robert Oliver Brown, 91, of York passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at White Oak Manor in York.
The funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, September 15, 2014 at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jeff Pinkston officiating. Burial will be at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, September 15, 2014 from 1-2 PM at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church.
Happy was a son of the late Paul Jackson Brown and Frankie Byrum Brown. He was the widower of Doris Hunter Brown. He was a life long member of Steele Creek Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon, elder, trustee and also taught Sunday school. “Happy” was retired from Dairy Manufacturing Produce as a salesman. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and received a Purple Heart.
He is survived by daughters Carol B. Simmons, Amy Brown, brothers Paul J. Brown, William F. Brown, grandchildren Frankie Simmons, Carolyn Simmons and great grandchildren Payten and Madeline. He was preceded in death by sister Nancy B. Ridenhour, brothers Calvin D. Brown, Joseph O. Brown and Elbert G. Brown.
