ROCK HILL -- Richard "Rick" Dean White, of Rock Hill passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Ebenezer Presbyterian Associated Reformed Church with Dr. Boyce Wilson and Dr. Mel Wines officiating. The family will receive friends in the Bailey Activity Center following the service.
Rick was a son of the late William Oscar and Odessa McManus White. He was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Associated Reformed Church and he retired from Thomas Concrete as a salesman. Rick played for the York Green Dragon football team, attended Gardner Webb University, St. Francis Xavier University and he was also a member of the York County Crescent Shrine Club. Rick was life long Gamecock fan, and he was in the Beach Music Hall of Fame as being a saxophone player with "Tempest" group.
He is survived by wife Myra Hope White of Rock Hill, son Jeremy White of Rock Hill, sister Peggy White Greening of Halifax, Nova Scotia, and several nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by his brother Bill White.
