Richard “Skunk” Earl Brakefield, 65, of York, SC passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 peacefully at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Hickory Grove Church of God Cemetery in Hickory Grove, SC with the Reverends Rick Sturgis and Milton Smith officiating. The family will receive friends in cemetery following the service and other times at the home.
Rick was born on July 28, 1955 in York, SC. He was the son of the late Marshall W. Brakefield and Bertha Caveny Brakefield. He was a member of Living by Faith Baptist Church in York, SC.
Rick is survived by his wife, Danette Moss Brakefield, sons, Steven Moss (Pam), Scott Brakefield (Andrea), Travis Brakefield (Kristy), Erik Brakefield (Sharon), brothers, Gene Brakefield (Betty), Eddie Brakefield (Linda), fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his two sisters and three brothers.
