YORK – Raymond “Ray” Lee Reavis, 52, of York, SC passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at First United Methodist Church in Clover, SC with the Reverend Alex Stevenson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
Ray was born on July 16, 1969 in High Point, NC. He was the son of Charles Odell Reavis and the late Helen Jeanette Hutton Reavis. He was a class of 1987 graduate at Robert B. Glenn High School in Kernersville, NC where he lettered in football and was a drummer in the high school band. After high school, Ray studied physics at Guilford College. He achieved his MBA at Western Governors University and went on to have a long career with Microsoft and Wells Fargo as a software engineer. Ray loved the Lord. He was a Lay Pastor at Shady Grove Church, New Zion UMC, and Sharon UMC, and was a member of First UMC in Clover, SC. He had a love for traveling, camping, riding motorcycles, cooking, “Ray’s Chicken Farm”, but most of all, his daughter, Rachel. He will always be remembered for his contagious and affectionate smile.
In addition to his father, Ray is survived by his daughter, Rachel Lynnette Reavis, siblings: Randy Reavis (Sherry), Debi Reavis Johnson (Tommy), Charles W. Reavis, and Charlene Reavis Green (Jack); former wife, Vicki Lynn, and numerous nieces and nephews.
