YORK – Mr. Ray E. Wright, 85, of York passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 at his daughter’s home surrounded by his family.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Bratton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Bratton Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 15, 2016 at Lakeview Memory Gardens for both Martha and Ray Wright.
Born January 14, 1931, Ray was the oldest son of Mahlon and Mary Robinette Wright. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of both the VFW and American Legion.
Ray is survived by son Allen Wright of Hendersonville, NC, daughters, Pamela Rumaker of York, Vicki Valderrama of York, 4 sisters, 3 brothers, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha Z. DeArmitt Wright, son Michael Wright and 4 brothers.
