Ray Bentley
Ransey Ray Bentley, 71, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Bratton Funeral Home in York. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 PM at Bratton Funeral Home on Tuesday. Burial will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC.
Ray was a son of Georgette Sabon Gilbert and the late James E. Bentley. He was owner of Southeastern Construction and Tie Sales, Inc. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Vietnam War, and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of VFW Post 2889 and American Legion Post 34 in Rock Hill. He loved to travel, to ride four wheelers, take cruises, sing karaoke, and especially spend time with his family.
In addition to his mother, Ray is survived by his wife, Sue Johnson Bentley, children; Ransey Ray Bentley, Jr. (Kimberly) of Concord, NC, Kathryn D. Duckworth (Wayne) of Austell, GA, Michele Lynn McHenry (Michael) of York, SC, brothers; Claude, David, Dean, Michael, sisters; Gail and Susan, half brothers; Jimmy and Jamie, half sisters; Jennifer, Karen, Judy, Diane, and Darlene, nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. In addition to his father, Ray was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Myrtle Bentley.
