Thelma Pauline “Polly” Hill Blanton, age 91 of White Oak Manor, York, SC, went to her eternal home on Saturday, October 26, 2013.
Mrs. Blanton was born September 22, 1922 to the late Nathaniel and Agnes Belle Hill. She was married to the late Paul F. Blanton of York. She is survived by her daughter, Paulette B. Moore (Ray) of York and her son, Fredrick Darryl Blanton (Linwood Ricks) of Charlotte, NC.
Mrs. Blanton was a devoted Christian with a beautiful faith and love of God. She was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church of York, where she devoted many hours to working with the children's ministries there. She was honored by the church for her long service as the leader of the Sunbeams group.
She was an Avon representative for over 25 years, but her greatest joy and favorite job was as homemaker for her family. Cooking was her specialty and she took great delight in preparing meals for family and friends. She especially loved family celebrations and was famous for her holiday desserts.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Bratton Funeral Home, York SC with her son-in-law Deacon Ray Moore and Rev. Carey Caldwell officiating. Interment will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens, York SC following the service. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
