Philip Quinn “PQ” Neil, 80, of York, SC passed away on June 2, 2017
at home, surrounded by his loving family.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 on Sunday June 4, 2017 at Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church, York, SC with Rev. Thomas McPhail officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday June 3, 2017 from 6 to 8 at Bratton Funeral Home.

Born in York, SC on July 21, 1936, Mr. Neil was the son of the late Samuel Leslie Neil and Bertha Elliott Neil. He was a member of Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church where he attended the Men’s Sunday School Class and served as a deacon. Following graduation from York High School, he served in the United States Air Force and National Guard. He was also a member of the Philanthropic Masonic Lodge #32. Mr. Neil was retired from Bowater after working there 38 years. Mr. Neil never met a stranger. He took pride in his children and grandchildren and all of their accomplishments.

Mr. Neil is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Kate Robinson Neil; a son Tony Neil of York, SC and a daughter Kelly Neil Ard and husband David Ard of Rock Hill, SC; five grandchildren: Landon Ard and Logan Ard of Rock Hill, SC; Tyler Neil
( Marissa )of Ocala, Florida; Amy Neil; and Hailey Neil Moose (Chase) of York, SC; brother, Brooks Edward Neil and wife, Sandy of Antioch, TN; sister in laws, Sara Neil and Lavene Pryor of Clover, SC; brother in law Jerry Robinson(Pat) of Mt. Prospect, IL; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, his brothers Lewis Eugene Neil, Samuel Howard Neil, and Donald Lee Neil preceded him in death.

The Men’s Bible Class is requested to be the Honorary Pallbearers.
