Remembering Virginia

A Home-Going Celebration of Life Service for Ms. Viriginia Hickson Smith will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 in the Hillbridge Road Church of Christ, 433 Hillbridge Road – Dublin, Ga. at 11:00 A. M. Brother Kurtis Miller will officiate and the interment will follow in the Hillbridge Memorial Garden. Virginia Hickson Smith was born on May 5, 1935 to John Thomas Hickson and Rebecca Hickson in Bartow, Georgia. Virginia was baptized in 2009 at the Hillbridge Road Church of Christ and was faithful until her illness. Virginia became a Certified Blood Technician after attending Miami Dade Community College. She was also a Security Officer for Advanced Security. Virginia was also an entrepreneur. She sold chips, cookies, candy, and drinks from her pantry. She also sold pies. Virginia was a foster parent for over 12 years. Virginia was preceded in death by: her parents, JT and Rebecca Hickson; son, Charles Smith; daughter Pamela Smith; four brothers, John Thomas Hickson Jr, Wallace Hickson, Charles Hickson and Tom Hickson; three sisters, Mazie Hickson Snell, Shirley Hickson Brinson. She leaves to cherish her memory: Linda Street, Chester, VA, Carolyn Vining, Durham, NC, Elbert Smith (Angelia) Mebane, NC, Ronnie Smith, Willie Mcfadden, Joe Smith, Miami, FL, Chris Smith, Dublin, GA, Pierre Smith (Michalea) Port St. Lucie, FL; nineteen grandchildren, Justin Waters, Shondrell Smith, Trayon Smith, Marc Bronson, Brandon Reams, Aiden Barnes, Sharnise Rhodes, Darrel Kirk, Maurice Kirk (Whitney), Fatimah R. Brownlee, William S. Campbell, Philemon O. Simmons (Den’e), Travei McFadden, Sanaa McFadden, Javon Smith, Anijah Smith, A’nakae Smith; nine great grandchildren; James A. Bolten III, Jaumaria E. Bolten, Elyn and Eden Woods, Na’Ima and Nailah Kirk, Tylyn, McFadden, Zaylin M. Campbell, Josiah K. Johnson; five sisters, Minnie Gray, Center Reach, NY, Annie (Roy) Hardy, Brooklyn, NY, Gertrude (Henry) Chambers, Liburn, GA, Cofelia Francis, Bartow, GA, Ethel Combs, Raliegh, NC, one sister-in-law, Helen Hickson, Bartow GA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church members.
