Shirley P. Peterson

A Home- Going celebration of life for Shirley Pullins Peterson will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 11: O’clock A. M. in the Second Baptist Church, 800 N. Decatur Street, Dublin, Ga. The Rev. Cecil Moore will officiate and interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery. Ms. Peterson was born June 2, 1943 to the union of the late Carvin the late Elizabeth Pullins in Dublin, Georgia. She answered God’s call to glory on February 9, 2025, at the well lived life of 81 years, at The Villas in Dublin, Ga. Ms. Peterson was the 5th child of seven born to Carvin and Elizabeth. She was a 1961 graduate of the mighty Trojans of Oconee High School. She joined the Second Baptist Church at an early age. She worked for the Atlanta Housing Authority for over thirty (30) years and the Macon Housing Authority for fifteen (15) years before retiring and returning to Dublin, Ga. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; sibling; Harold Pullen, Bobbie Ryals, and Herman Pullen; one sister-in-law, Sue Pullen and one brother-in-law, Timothy Ryals. Left to cherish her memories and mourn her passing are her daughter, Gywanna (Benjamin) Hodges, one grandson, Trae Nicholas Godfrey, two great-grands, TraNyla and Trae Godfrey, Jr., Brothers; Otha (Juanita) Pullins, Wallace (Constance) Pullins, John Wesley (Brenda) Pullen, one sister-in-law, Claretha P:ullen, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Friends are being received at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Benjamin and Gywanna Hodges, 806 Lincoln Street, Dublin, Ga. Arrangements entrusted to Wyche’s Funeral Home.
