James Douglas Jackson

A celebration of life service for Mr. James Douglas Jackson will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 1:00 P. M. in the Shady Grove African Baptist Church, 679 Shady Grove Church Road, Dudley, Georgia. The Rev. Willie Edwards, Jr. will officiate and the interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. James Douglas Jackson was born May 22, 1949, in Laurens County, Georgia to the parentage of the late James Lee and Nobie Lee Jackson. At an early age, he joined Shady Grove Baptist Church where he served within the Usher’s Ministry for many years. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents (James Lee and Nobie Lee Jackson). He was also preceded in death by two of his sisters: Lois Dell Brown and Betty Jean Jackson. Mr. Jackson leaves to cherish his memories: one sister, Judy Mitchell, Dublin, GA, one brother, Jim (Jacqueline) Jackson, Melbourne, FL, five close nephews Glen (Janice) Jackson of Atlanta, GA, Izell (Evenda) Stephens, Soperton, GA, James Timothy (Annetta) Jackson, East Dublin, GA, Willie (Ramona) Edwards Jr, Dublin, GA, Jim Henry (Carmelita) Jackson Jr., four endearing nieces, Lisa Knight, Dayton, OH, Patricia Brown, Dayton, OH, Vashon Jackson, Titusville, FL, Carmen Jackson, Orlando, FL, two very close cousins, Condie (Doris) Johnson, Dublin, GA, Robert (Jean) Hurst, Tampa, FL, a host of other cousins, great nephews and great nieces.
