Remembering Glover

Homegoing services for Mrs. Glover Lou Coleman-Kurtz will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 2:00 o’clock P. M. in the Christian Hope Baptist Church, 1792 GA HWY 26 E, Cochran, GA. The Rev. Gregory Cutts will officiate and the interment will follow in the Kurtz Cemetery. A pillar of faith, integrity, and the epitome of grace, resilience, and wholesomeness. A model example of womanhood throughout her lifetime. A giver, a provider, a caregiver, a spouse, a mother, a sister, a friend. Full of love, compassion, humility, humor, and joy. It is how she lived her life and what she personified in her daily character: the posture of an industrious woman. Not just any woman, we describe Mrs. Glover Lou Coleman-Kurtz, born to Ms. Sylvia Brown and Mr. Carey Coleman in 1927. Devoted to God, she would be found Sunday after Sunday at her Lifetime membership church since age 12, Christian Hope Baptist Church. She served on the usher board faithfully for many, many years. She would also be found glorifying God at her husband’s church, Laurens Hill Baptist Church and many other churches central to the community. She would spend her life as a dedicated spouse for 60 plus years to Mr. B.J. Kurtz, who preceded her in death (2012). She worked as a skilled caregiver in the field of healthcare and would provide one-to-one caregiving for many in settings from hospitals to skilled nursing home facilities to private residences. With a heart of gold and hands that expressed such, she would even provide the best of care to family members and friends. She loved and adored her active role in the gift of motherhood, birthing and pouring into 5 wonderful children: Vivian (Joseph) Kurtz-Rudolph, Rodney Kurtz, Margaret Kurtz, Myrtle (Linton) Kurtz-Evans, and Stacie (Tyrus) Kurtz-Miller and two amazing bonus children: J.L. (Wilbertine [d]) Edmond and Earlene (Bill) Harris. She has eight beloved grandchildren: Andrea (Anthony) Kurtz-Ashley, Nicholas (Wendy) Evans, Reggie Watkins, Georgina Kurtz-Brown, Kesha (Julius) Kurtz-King, Nicole (Antonio) Evans-Ingram, Sharondalyn DuPree, and Darea McCarthy. She has a host of beloved bonus grands, great-grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends. She is also survived by two highly loved siblings: Drucilla (Stanley [d]) Coleman-Clark and Claudia Mae Coleman. Siblings that preceded her in death include Janie Mells, Rosa Lewis, Julia Jackson, Ocie Brown, K.B. Coleman, Opie Mae Coleman Payne, and Roosevelt Coleman. Mrs. Glover Lou Coleman- Kurtz lived a life full of honor, fullness, and inspiration. We are grateful for God’s blessing in the earth and her legacy that will shine eternally. May her light, love, and all that she uniquely means to each of you never cease to exist. Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Well done.
