Home-Going grave-side services for Mother Christine Hood, 101, formerly of Dublin, Laurens County Georgia will be held Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 1:00 clock P. M. at the New Gardner’s Church of God In Christ Cemetery, 140 Gardner Circle, Oconee, Georgia 31067. Mother Christine Hood was born on April 8, 1919 in Tennille, Georgia. She was the second of 9 children, the oldest daughter born to the late Tom and Annie Harris. At an early age, she was converted and baptized in the Church of God in Christ. In 1937 she was united in holy matrimony to Superintendent Leslie R. Hood. To this union they were blessed to have 8 children. Three children (2 sons and 1 baby daughter) preceded her in death. Later in life she became involved in the service of foster care and ended up with two beautiful daughters. Mother Hood was a prayer warrior and received her missionary license as First Lady and worked faithfully by her husband’s side in various churches he pastored. After the passing of her husband, she moved to Atlanta in 1992 and joined under watch care at Greater Full Gospel COGIC. She was a member until the Lord called her home on January 10, 2021. She leaves to mourn 5 daughters: Leslie M. Graham (Decatur, GA), Ernestine Harvard (Stone Mountain, GA), Ann Ash (Phil)(Oxford, GA), Bettye Ficklin (Atlanta, GA), Hazel Pitts (Tallis) (Stone Mountain), 2 foster daughters: Annette Brooks (Gregory), Linda Barnett (Robert), 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 2 great, great-grandchildren, 1 sister Willie Pearl Jones (St. Petersburg, FL), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends as well as her beloved church family at Greater Union Grove COGIC and Greater Full Gospel COGIC.
