Remembering Obie
Funeral services for Mr. Obie Lee Taylor will be Friday, January 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend Winfred McCloud will officiate.
Mr. Taylor was born on June 12, 1951. He quietly departed his earthly temple on Friday, January 6, 2017 in Fairview Park Hospital. Loved ones that preceded him in death are his parents, Lily and Carvin Taylor; his custodial parents, Joseph and Gladys O’neal; stepmother, Ethel Mae Taylor; sister, Annie Pearl Plummer; brothers, Johnny O’neal, Willie Gene O’neal, Zebbie O’neal, and Early Taylor.
Mr. Taylor obtained his formative education at Millville High School. Early in adulthood he worked at Laurens Memorial Hospital, Dublinair Nursing Home, Bassett Furniture, and Evans Cabinet Company. He independently labored in lawn care in recent years until his illness.
Family who will cherish his memory are his loving guardians and caregivers, brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Bertha Taylor; niece and nephew, Debra and Nelson Mainor, Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Clarence Rozar, all of Dublin, Georgia. Sisters; Leoma Brown, Dotty Taylor, Ella Mae Taylor, Angela Finney, and Nicole Taylor, Dublin, Georgia. Brothers; Horace (Dorothy) O’neal, Miami, Florida, EJ Taylor, Marshall (Iris) Taylor, Decatur, Georgia, and Milton (Christine) White, Dublin, Georgia. Sister-in-laws; Shirley O’neal, Mary O’neal, and Waletha O’neal-Rozier, Dublin, Georgia. A devoted friend, Virginia Nesbitt, a godson, Zachary Nesbitt, Dublin, Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Taylor will be placed in the church one hour prior to the services.
The family is receiving guests at the Taylors residence, 606 East Mary Street, Dublin, Georgia.
