Nellie J. Parker HICKORY GROVE Nellie Jackson Parker, 69, of 2956 Irene Bridge Hwy died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at her home. The funeral will be at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church with the Revs. Harold Johnson and Tommy Hope officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM at Mt. Vernon UMC Fellowship Hall on Thursday, June 21, 2012. Nellie was a daughter of the late Thomas Biggers and Nellie Bailey Jackson. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and ran a home daycare. She is survived by her husband, Denver Parker, son, Rev. Den Parker and his wife Tracie of Stanley, NC, and 14 brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by one sister. Memorials may be made to Kings Closet, c/o Covenant Baptist Church, 1425 Lee Pearson Road, Granite Falls, NC 28630.
