Mildred Pruitt
YORK -- Mildred "Granny" Nix Pruitt, 87, of 202 Herndon Ave went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 22, 2014, from the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.
A celebration of life service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Blessed Hope Baptist with Rev. Larry Nunn, Rev. Mike Lowery, and Rev. Wayne Smith officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends following the committal service at the Cowboy Church, 1188 Edgefield Road, York, SC.
Mildred was a daughter of the late Randolph Ray Nix and Beulah Abernathy Nix. She was retired as a supervisor at Cannon Mills after 47 years, and was a member of the Cowboy Church. Mildred was the widow of Garland Glenn Pruitt.
She is survived by daughters, Nadine P. Henry of York, SC, Dianne P. McNeely (Steve) of York, SC, and Myra P. Strickland (Chris Sinz) of York, SC, five grandchildren, Kim M. Clinton (Steve), John A. Henry Jr., Nicole M. Thompson (Justin), Summer Stowe (Kent), and Noel H. Towe (Jeremy), and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved dog Rufus, very special friend Joan Sinz, adopted grandson Dr. S.K. Singhi, and caregivers, Gwen Bussey, Cathy Miskelly, and Krisite Poulton. In addition to her parents and husband, Granny was preceded in death by her son Garland Glenn Pruitt Jr.
The family would also like to extend thanks to Hospice and Community Care for their love and care of Granny.
