Remembering Melernease

Funeral services for Mrs. Melernease Cooper Hayward will be held Friday, February 24, 2017 at 2:00 P. M. in the Williams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, East Dublin, Georgia. The Bishop Timothy Chapman will officiate and burial will follow in the family plot in the Williams Chapel Mission Cemetery. Sister Hayward was born August 27, 1933 to the parentage of the late Mr. Lenzy and Elease Smith Cooper. On Saturday, February 18, 2017 the divine will of God entered her room at the Fairview Park Hospital and called her into eternal rest. She was educated in the Laurens County Public Schools. After many years of service to Biljo, Inc., Oxford Industries of Dublin, and Pilot Traveling Center, she retired from labor. She was a lifelong member of the Williams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Vonnie Hayward, a daughter, Cassandra Hayward; two sisters, Jestine (Dave) Seals, and Jenny Mae(Willie Lee) Watkins, one brother, Ulysses Cooper, Sr., one step-grandchild, Stephanie Thomas, sister-in-law, Emma Lou Young, nephews, Charles Howard, Ulysses Cooper, Jr., Harris Peacock; nieces, Gloria Dean Carswell, Sherry Ann Seals and Tomarian Seals Taylor. She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her fond memories, two loving daughters, Linda D. Barnett, Wilma J. Hayward, both of Dublin, Ga., a loving son, Garrard Hayward, Macon, Ga., A step-daughter, Bernestine Eagle, East Dublin, Ga., four grandchildren, Tracy Hayward, Detroit, MI., Terrence Hayward, and Yolanda Hayward, Dublin, Ga., and Antwan Woodard, N.C., a great-grandchild, Faith Hayward, Dublin, Ga., nieces, Lena Cooper, Jacqueline (James) Hicks, Valencia (Darryle) Walker, Ronnie Swint, Jeffery Peacock, Ronnie Knight brother-in-laws; Harry (Catherine) Hayward, Benny Hayward and Willie T. Hayward, Lyons, Ga. She is also survived by several God-Children: Kathy Pooler, Chiquita Lattimore, Markese Walker, Wanda Allen, LaWanda Allen, Victoria Allen, Larry Denson, Maurice Denson, LaShasta Denson, Ryan Junior, and Baronique Burton, three devoted cousins, Mildred Hill, Myrtice Arline and Juanita Butts, two devoted friends, Angie Gilbert and Evelyn Oliver.
