Mattie Mae Benfield Brown, 94, passed away Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Wayne T Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill after a brief illness (stay) at Piedmont Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 2 PM on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Bratton Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Phillips officiating. The burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 – 2 PM at Bratton Funeral Home.
Mattie Mae was the daughter of the late Annie Love Clinton Benfield and Walter Davison Benfield and was preceded in death by her husband Ray Brown, Sr. and her son Ray Brown, Jr.
Mattie Mae is survived by her twin daughters, Anne Brown of York and Martha Mitchell (Dennis) of Jacksonville, FL, grandson, Kenneth Wilshire of Orlando, FL, granddaughter, Kristina Mitchell Burns (Matt) of Houston, TX, great grandson, Hudson Wilshire of Orlando, FL, sister, Juanita Towery (Hoover) of York, brother, James “Butch” Benfield of York, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
The family would love to thank the care givers of the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House for their care, compassion, and comfort during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Community Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
