Mary Mozelle Carson Barnette, 101, of York, SC passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 peacefully at her home.
The funeral service will be at 3pm on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Philadelphia United Methodist Church in York, SC with the Reverend Emily Sutton officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3pm at the church on Sunday. Burial will be at Philadelphia UMC Cemetery.
Born in York, SC, Mozelle was the daughter of the late Sam Carson and Wilma Lowery Carson. She was a devoted member of Philadelphia UMC.
She is survived by her son, James “Jim” W. Barnette, Jr. and his wife, Janet, two grandsons, William M. Barnette and James V. Barnette.
In addition to her parents, Mozelle was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Barnette, Sr. and her three brothers, Lewis Carson, Avery Carson, and James Carson.
Memorials may be made to Philadelphia United Methodist Church’s Building Fund or to the Cemetery Association at 2260 Chester HWY, York, SC 29745.
The Barnette family would like to send a special thanks to Jean Hammond, Vivian Hammond, Carol Kimrey, and Kimbrelle Klutz for their love and companionship they have given to Ms. Mozelle.
