Martha Ann Turner McCarter, 91, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 at White Oak Manor of Rock Hill.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 15, 2021 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with Rev. Carrie Blanchard officiating.
Martha was born in Cramerton, N.C. on November 16, 1929 to the late James Smith Turner and Rena Wooten Turner. She is the widow of Elvin Maxie McCarter.
Martha was loved dearly by all her family and church community. She was a very active member of Tirzah Presbyterian Church and enjoyed participating in the Women’s Circle. Martha worked as a tax preparer, but later in life found her calling as a home health care nurse. She was also a proud member of the Clover Golden Girls Graduation Class of 1946.
Martha is survived by her son, Richard McCarter (Joyce), son, Jerry McCarter (Glenna), daughter, Barbara Allred (Paul), daughter in law, Nancy McCarter, all of York. She is also survived by her sisters, Rachel Boyd and Sara Neil, of Clover. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son, John McCarter.
Martha was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
