ROCK HILL -- Margaret "Peggy" Whitesides Smart, 84, of Rock Hill died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 12:30 PM at Lakeview Memory Gardens in York. The family will receive friends following from 1 - 2 PM at Bratton Funeral Home, with a memorial service at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tom McPhail officiating.
Peggy was the daughter of the late Roy Baxter Whitesides and Margaret Templeton Whitesides. She was a member of Beth Shiloh Presbyterian Church and was the widow of Sherman Edward Smart.
She is survived by son Edward Smart (Delores) of Summerville, SC, three grandchildren, Rachel, Shannon, and Renee, and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy was preceded in death by her daughter Kathey Leigh Smart.
