Mrs. Lucille Abernathy Kirkland, 83, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Woodside Cemetery with Rev. Tom McPhail officiating.
Lucille was a daughter of the late Fred Abernathy and Annie Hodge Abernathy. She was retired from the Clover School District, and was the widow of James M. Kirkland.
She is survived by her daughter Debbie Barnette (Clayburn) of Rock Hill, grandchildren, Dr. Neil McMackin of Winston Salem, NC, David McMackin of Richmond, VA, and three great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille was preceded in death by her daughter Vicky Caire, granddaughter Ashley Barnette and siblings, Fred Abernathy, Jr., Margaret Suggs, Connie Fitch, Reese Abernathy and Brenda Autry.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the York County Humane Society, 8177 Regent Parkway, Fort Mill, SC, 29715.
