Lucille Feemster
York - Mrs. Lucille Moss Feemster, 93, formerly of York, S.C., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 4, 2013. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 59 years, James Olin Feemster. Born in Gaffney, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Charlie Jones and Cleo Byars Moss.
Surviving are sons, James Olin Feemster, Jr. and wife Nancy of Greenville, S.C., and Charles William Feemster and wife Joy of York, S.C., and sisters Thelma Westmoreland and Cleo Vaughn of Gaffney, S.C.. She has three grandchildren, Hunter Feemster Kite and husband David, of Charleston, S.C., William James Feemster and wife Carmen, of Greenville, S.C., and Tasha Feemster of Orlando, Fla., and one great grandchild, Annie Knox Feemster of Greenville, S.C.
Mrs. Feemster was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church of York, SC. While living at Greenville Place assisted living the past five years, she attended the Greenville ARP Church in Greenville, S.C.
Mrs. Feemster was a veteran of WW II, serving as a nurse at Camp Mackall, N.C. She spent her working career of almost forty years as a nurse at Divine Saviour Hospital in York.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 8 at 1:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in York, SC, with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens in York immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 10 W. Liberty Street, in York, SC 29745 or to the Greenville ARP Church, 741 Cleveland Street, in Greenville, S.C. 29601.
