YORK -- Louise Dickson Norris Thomas, 86, of York, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015, at AnMed Hospital in Anderson.
The funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at St. Johns United Methodist Church in Rock Hill with Revs. Debra Quilling Smith, Rhett Haselden, Eddie Usher officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 1-2 pm Sunday, August 30, 2015 At St. Johns United Methodist Church.
Louise Thomas was a daughter of the late James Harvey Dickson and Alpha Harmon Dickson. She was the widow of Robert E. Norris, Sr. and David Walter Thomas. Louise was a life long Methodist at Belmont, NC, Trinity UMC, York, Kings Mountain Chapel, York and a member of St. Johns UMC in Rock Hill. She was an organist, taught piano and was a public school music teacher. Louise was family focused in caring for her children, during illness and after death of her husband Robert Norris. She cared for her father during later years of his life and also cared for her husband David Thomas during his serious illness. Louise was an inspiration for her 5 grandchildren. She loved music both as a career and hobby and enjoyed Clemson football.
She is survived by a son, Robert E. Norris, Jr. (Deborah) of Knoxville, TN, daughter, Jamie Norris Cason ( Frank) of Anderson, SC, and sister Mary Jane Dickson Steele of Greenville, SC., grandchildren, Robert E. Norris, III, Meredith Norris Spears, (Zack), Allison Louise Cason, Anna Elizabeth Cason, William Frank Cason, Jr. She was preceded in death by her spouse David Thomas, Robert Norris, and her sister Kaye Dickson Bennett.
