BELMONT – Lorena “Rena” King Benton, 87, of Belmont, NC passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021 peacefully at her home.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Lakeview Memory Gardens with the Reverend Richard Sigmon officiating. The family will receive friends in the cemetery following the service.
Rena was born on June 22, 1934 in Copperhill, TN. She was the daughter of the late Albert Prince King and Icie Mae Harris King and was the widow of Rex Benton. She was a member of Lowell Free Will Baptist Church in Gastonia, NC.
Rena is survived by her sisters, Virginia Harris, Jean K. Dellinger, Joyce O’Shields, sisters-in-law, Lois King, Linda King, Gerrie King, and numerous nieces and nephews including two special nephews, John and Ben King.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rena was preceded in death by her four brothers: Windell, Walter, Johnny and Danny King; and four sisters: Agnes Mauney, Peggy Amerto, Anne Mae Amerson, and Shirley Clark.
