YORK -- Leonard Hayward Benfield, 68, of 2251 Sutton Springs Rd. died Saturday, November 08, 2014, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.
The funeral will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday November 11, 2014 at Gloryland Baptist Church in Smyrna, SC. Rev. Jeff Gilfillan of Gloryland Baptist will be officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
A native of York, Leonard was a son of the late Lewis and Pearl Robinson Benfield . He was the widower of Mary Drum Benfield. He was a member of Gloryland Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son Aaron Benfield of York, SC, and two daughters Angela Wray of York, SC, and Tonya Collao of Raleigh, NC, two brothers Perry Benfield of Weaversville, NC, and Jerry Benfield of York, SC, two sisters Louise Wade of Spartanburg, SC, and Peggy Parker of York, SC. and 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by his grandson David Grinsley, Jr..
Visitation will be held at Bratton Funeral Home on Monday November 10, 2014 from 6-8 PM.
